Thanks Nutnfancy

I have been a fan of Nutnfancy on YouTube for a while http://www.youtube.com/user/nutnfancy and in general and specifically too I enjoy his videos. He is knowledgeable and entertaining too. I like that he knows his stuff and is goofy enough to be a real person. I find that his videos are great to have playing on my desktop while working on other tasks. And as good as Nutnfancy is I think I am most glad to have stumbled across him because of the other great people he has introduced me to through their YouTube channels.

Some of my favs are:

usnerdoc http://www.youtube.com/user/usnerdoc

wranglerbarn http://www.youtube.com/user/wranglerbarn

yankeeprepper http://www.youtube.com/user/yankeeprepper

hickok45 http://www.youtube.com/user/hickok45

These videos are all of decent quality and on subjects that I am interested in. We have one television in the house that is arguablyone too many for the poison that it and DirectTV pump into our lives and I have my computer desk set up in the den and can watch the idiot box while messing about on my ubuntu box. Nightly I find myself ignoring the broadcast poison for the stuff that I choose to watch on YouTube.

Recently I discovered a whole host of anti-TNP people and pretty much all of the people I watch on the YouTube have some devoted haters. I did find a number of web posts 'outing' Nutnfancy's real name and address on some forums. He seems to be the real deal to me and I hope that his popularity and influence continues to grow.

I would love to see thousands of Nutnfancy, usnerdoc, wranglebarn, yankeprepper, and hickok45s in the world. I hope their presence inspires a flood of imitators and innovators. I do have to have something to watch.

Pick your poison

Sick of the infidelity poison. There are swarming rumors that an ostensibly perfect political candidate had an an affair with at least one person.

Will Folks is not a close friend but a peripheral friend. I have occasionally tipped him to things that come my way and I respect him and the job he is doing in his best political blog in South Carolina. Will is not without his warts but, I thought, anything of import had already aired and sterilized by sunlight.

Then came this: http://www.fitsnews.com/2010/05/24/will-folks-letting-the-chips-fall/

These chips are falling and could be a nightmare for the leading GOP primary candidate for governor of South Carolina. Representative Nikki Haley released this statement :http://www.fitsnews.com/2010/05/24/haley-issues-statement/

Now we have to look into this to see which of the two is a liar. More disappointment for the idealists. Just what we need.

My hope that this is a FITSnews super stunt that demonstrates some moral lesson Will Folks has been working on. I doubt many many local politicians will comment just because many have issues withing their own household. Such fun SC politics is.

Update:  Spoke to a connected friend moments ago:  Probably true

Drawing the big Mo

That day to draw the prophet Mohammad is about to end and I have yet to draw anything and post it to the blog. Two reasons...really (1) I can not draw and (2) I have a family that doesn't want to see their Daddy or Husband hacked to death by some totally rad dude that has been poisoned by a bad read:EVIL local religious leader.

Last November we trekked to the Islamic Republic of Egypt and we loved it. On one of the many train rides we took I confessed that I could live in Cairo... I would rather live in Cairo than Kansas City Missouri. Cairo is 90% Islamic and 9% Coptic Christian. I had felt no ill ease even with my PHOS & ZOE Christian cross hanging outside my shirt.

The Prophet Mohammad even signed a letter of protection to the St. Catherine's Orthodox Christian Monastery in the Sinai desert. The letter was signed with an impression from his painted hand and is sorta an Islamic relic. I have seen a copy. So our friend Mohammad wasn't all bad.

If you are involved in a club or association which rises or falls on a picture in the popular culture...You might reconsider you membership. I have been very much offended by stuff like Serrano's “artwork” but thankfully I was raised in a place and in a family which never guranteed or implied that I was safe from offense. More often than not I am the one to push people to the edge of offense and slightly over.

No one has the right not to be offended. Not in a free country. This is something that would keep me out of an Islamic country....that and no pork BBQ.

BTW Egyptian yogurt, produce, and pastries are the best I have ever had.

Thankfully history has many depictions of Prophet Mohammad. Even the Supreme Court of the United States has a depiction of the prophet.

NRA Charlotte

I went to the NRA's national meeting in Charlotte this past weekend.  Crazy awesome.

I was lucky to meet up with so many great people whom I had only known from the electronic media.

One big surprise is how many household named firearms accessories manufacturers were really family owned businesses. Another great thing, for me, was that many of the companies on the showroom floor had booths manned by principals! I always attempt to talk to people that can write checks... those are the people that can make decisions. I was able to talk to owners and get commitments to appear on the radio programme. So often I talk to people that are just lowly Indians but the exhibitors were all chiefs!

I read firearms blogs and listen to pod-casts from great people like Alan, Breda, Caleb, Weird Beard, JayG, and many others. It, for me, was a great experience to put names and IRL faces together.

I am cleared, by the goodwyfe, to go to SHOT in January and this experience with the NRA has me wanting to go to Pittsburgh for NRA 2011.

Long Hiatus

I have been largely addicted to Facebook and has not had a chance to update anything on livejournal. After the election and getting caught way behind the curve on the ammunition shortage I have been focusing on our family and my business.

Clemson spanks the Shamecocks...yet again.  Much easier to be a Tiger in Shamecockcountry after another win.

I think that it is universally understood that the homeless in the United States are largely drug addicted, alcohol addicted, diagnosed and undiagnosed with mental problems, and most have some sort of criminal record.

I attend a downtown church that is close to a Salvation Army facility.  The crime and other problems a shelter brings is a nightmare.  We are about to make a huge investment in the area with the construction of a new sanctuary and from a public policy perspective, in my view, it appears that the homeless problem will get worse.

I would like to see the sick, chemically dependent, and mentally ill get full courses of specialized inpatient treatment.  I would like to see street people have gifted to them by the community two all you can eat meals of boiled rice and chicken each day.  I would like every street person to have a safe place to shower and sleep.  I want all criminal street people removed from my area either by  incarceration   or relocation of those that no longer have warrants outstanding...I hear Utah is nice.

I think we need a reasonable reaction to the homeless street people.  I believe we should treat them justly and reintegrate those that can back into productive society.  Warehousing and food programs without treatment is pointless... and dangerous.

Where is this safety net that used to justify, in my opinion, our confiscatory taxes?  Where  are the communities that have converted the homeless back into the general citizenry?

Is there an answer to the misery and human suffering of homelessness?

It looks like we got what we deserved--and you can take that anyway you want to.  I survived Carter-Mondale I think we can stand on our heads for 4 years of Obama-Biden.

It can't be that bad and I actually think Obama and Biden are somewhat reasonable.  We will see.  Thank God it is over.

Oct. 27th, 2008

I good friend of mine alerted me that his relationship with his liberal girlfriend has ended because of his inability to surrender to Obamamania.

I have supported Obama because in the primaries I believed he was our best chance to knock the Clintons out of our national discussion. I also believed that Obama was wrong but not a crook. Now, unfortunately, I believe that his policies and influences are soooo left that it might be better if he were more moderate and a crook. I think I could accept that better. A crook has interests and that is something you can work with but a Marxist zealot, on the other hand, has a by any means necessary attitude and is much harder to deal with.

In my teen years I had the epiphany where I finally understood the democrat opposition to guns and their gun control creeping toward confiscation. It has zero to do with gun violence and all the stated reasons. The real reason private gun ownership must be ended is that firearms provide a tool for the population to resist the state. Stormtroopers are rendered largely ineffective by your Granddad’s 30-06 deer rifle. This fact all became very clear to me when I read :

And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say goodbye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand. The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst; the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!"
- The Gulag Archipelago, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

No matter how oppressive the supporters of NoBama are …as long as the American people have the power to resist things in this country are unlikely to change rapidly but the slow trod to socialism will under an Obama controlled state become a gallop. If Obama wins and it is a catastrophe we do have the chance to remedy the congress in two years and then to throw the Barak out in two after that. As long as we are a nation of laws and a constitutional republic I think we are safe but like looking at health of salamanders and invertebrates to evaluate an ecosystem I will be watching my own set of societal indicators to determine what I lost and what must be regained.

As they say in Chicago… Vote early and often.  In my state of South Carolina I think I can vote my conscience but if you are in a swing sate or where there is contest you probably need to hold your nose and vote McPalin.  I hate to fall from principle but there is some importance to expediency this year.  “Don’t Tread On Me” and God Save Our Republic

Stolen Poem

I regret publishing something stolen but If you know who wrote it drop me a note and I will edit the following:

'Twas the night before elections
And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down!

I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
Had cut off the TV
Tired of political crap.

When all of a sudden
There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet
They wanted my pay
To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money
And quick as a wink
Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink

He then rallied his henchmen
Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
To tear my country apart!

" On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On Acorn, On Pelosi"
He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause
And as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn't stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think
On this one final note-
